Colorado's Ian Laperriere and Anaheim's Travis Moen fight at the end of the second period Friday night in Anaheim, California. It was about as much fight as the Avalanche showed on offense, losing 5-0 in its Western Conference semifinal opener. The game might be an indicator of a physical best-of-seven series. As the period ended, Laperriere fought with Ducks forward Travis Moen in an attempt to prove that Colorado would not go down without a fight. The result was a 10-minute misconduct penalty, a 2-minute instigator penalty and 5 minutes for fighting.
"It's a long series and you just try to get some emotion going our way," Laperriere said.
"That's all I was trying to do there. I sat for 17 minutes. That's a weird feeling. I've never done that in my career, believe it or not."
