Talking Trash
(from the Windsor Star, 3/7/08)
Ian Laperriere had it all figured out – he would yap-yap his way through the National Hockey League.
So, under-sized and over-stoked, the brash youngster began letting rivals know exactly what he was going to do and exactly how he was going to do it. In both of Canada's official languages...

Roy Apologized to Laperriere
(from SLAM! Sports, 3/14/08)
Colorado Avalanche winger Ian Laperriere was upset with Mathieu Roy the last time they faced the Oilers prior to yesterday's contest.
Roy threw a couple of punches after Laperriere was already down in their fight at Rexall Place.
Roy had since apologized for doing so.
"I saw that he apologized," said Laperriere, one of the best personalities in the game. "I don't finish on top too often, maybe that's why I don't throw punches when a guy is down..."
Avs Enforcer Studies Game's Sweet Science Online
(from the Edmonton Journal, 3/14/08)
Colorado Avalanche winger Ian Laperriere has a face only a mother could love, or at the least one made for radio, not a post-NHL TV career.
He's had 155 regular-season fights and scored 111 goals since his first game in 1994 and his nose has taken a fair bit of bruising and busting. He'd much rather score a goal (he has 11 of those 111 against the Oilers, including two of his four this year), but he's the ultimate warrior. He's always game, and he's good at his job as an agitator...
